where is the rest?

There was nothing wrong with this story. It could have been a little more fleshed out but it was fine. Until the end. The book stops at 42%....right in what seems like the middle. But then that's all! I have kindle unlimited but I may have been peeved if I paid.

I have mixed emotions for this story. Usually I can't wait to jump on Ms.West's hot tamale train of stories. This time there were some issues for me with the ending that kind of fell flat. The story line was enjoyable however because of the ending I didn't love it like the rest of Ms. West's stories. First the good stuff. I love the background story of Atlas and what went on on his home planet. Also I really liked how Ms. West tackled the insta-love this time. Both H & H were questioning how this could happen which I appreciated. Even though you have to suspend your disbelief to enjoy this paranormal story the questioning of the insta-love made it more believable. I was really enjoying the story until the very end. Yes there is a HEA however the ending was abrupt and like another reviewer I too was trying to flip to the next page thinking there was more. Also at the very end one of the throw away lines on how she welcomes home Atlas was just plain crude and not the typical treatment that Ms. West usually gives a sex scene which really wasn't a scene but a statement. The story was left opened ended enough that other stories could be spawned from this one. I give this story 3.5 stars since there are no half stars I rounded up. I received an ARC for a honest and unbiased review.

Thought this book was very slow paced. Only half a book. Very disappointed in the ending. Would not recommend to other readers. Peeved that I paid for it. I wouldn't even give this one star, but that's the lowest option available.

Great for art students!

I have used Peter's instructions in teaching art, particularly for students who don't have a lot of innate talent, and they really enjoy it. It gives them the ability to create compelling characters and emotional content that would not be possible for them through other mediums.

wow, a great book and easy to follow

I am new at drawing and wanted a book that would teach me how to draw cartoons. This is a great book and it gives you alot of samples. The book is easy to follow and fun as well. I would recommend this book to people who are looking to draw cartoons at the beginning level.

About the Author
My name is Oleg Malikov; originally from a now non-existent country called the Soviet Union, now known as the Russian Federation. In 2000 I came to the US for my master's studies and never left. In 2012 I became a proud US citizen. I currently reside in Houston, TX and have been here since late 2002. While in Russia I got a bachelor degree in intercultural studies and translation (English and Spanish) from LUNN (Linguistic University of Nizhni Novgorod), and in the US I obtained an MBA from LSU (Louisiana State University). I like to read, write, spend time outdoors and lead an active lifestyle. My wife, Narmina, and I just had a beautiful daughter named Sofia, who is now a full-time manager of our lives. I am an author of two books - "Surfing Your Way Through Stock Market" and "Clash of Cultures: Russia vs USA or Understanding Russians Inside Out". The first one describes my way of investing and offers a practical guide for an average investor. The book is specific and to the point - I am not a fan of generalities and abstract notions. You will find everything from how to finance your investing activities, to selection of stocks for your portfolio and to managing your portfolio holdings the intelligent way. The second one is about Russia, and how it is similar and different from the West. I have always been fascinated with various cultures and how they compare and contrast with each other. Having lived the early half of my life in Russia and the later half in the US, I decided to write a book about Russia that would help a foreign person understand the culture, traditions and social behavior. We are a product of our environment and, maybe, if we understood the ingredients of the soup we are all boiling in, there would be less misunderstandings in the world we live in. Start with this book to get a firm footing in the stock market.

Oleg Malikov has penned a must read for stock investors. I always wanted to learn about stock market and all the different strategies around it but unfortunately I got always discouraged by people's bad experiences, market crashes and (most of all) "fear to invest".

All of this before reading Malikov book! I truly loved this book, not only because it is able to explain difficult concepts in a very easy way, but also because it is inspiring. Malikov makes you realize that being successful in stock market is not difficult as long as you have the necessary knowledge.

I would definitely recommend this book to anybody (like me) who wants to learn about stock market, doesn't know where to start from and wants to learn in the quickest and easy way. Start with this book to get a firm footing in the stock market.

What an outstanding and information-packed book. Oleg Malikov has really hit a home run out of the park with this book. I am new to investing and was looking for a guide that could not only explain the basics of investing, but also give me techniques and ideas to put me on the right path to successful investing. It has so much information, but at the same time, it's not complicated or difficult to understand. The author does a great job of explaining the complexities of stock investing in very simple layman's terms. If you are new to investing like I am, or you are looking for some type of definitive guide that can improve your investment strategies and returns, then I highly recommend you get this book. I think this was a great read!

As it was said in description- specific and to the point, short enough not to make you tired of reading, but informative enough to make you stop and think :) . I'm a newbie in investments, and this book helped me to get a clear picture of investing path. The book is inspiring and easy to read. It will answer, I'm pretty sure, most of your questions (as it has answered mine :) It's definitely the great book to have.

Dr. Charles Poole is Professor Emeritus of the Physics Department at the University of South Carolina and was appointed a fellow of the International EPR/ESR Society at the Rocky Mountain conference held in Denver in July of 1998. Professor Poole has carried out significant research in ferroelectrics and phase transitions in solids. For twenty years he edited the journal Magnetic Resonance Review and has been on the editorial board of the Bulletin of Magnetic Resonance.

About the Author
Dr. Farach has received international, national, and university awards. He is a member of the Academy of Science of Argentina and a Fellow of the American Society.

My research is in the area of theoretical condensed matter physics, especially the foundations of statistical physics. I have published extensively in the area of critical phenomena and phase transitions, including the text "Introduction to Renormalization Group Methods in Physics" with my co-authors Horacio Farach and Charles Poole. My most recent interests focus on numerical simulation of the mixed state in type-I superconductors, the analytical properties of the partition function, and the origins irreversibility.

When I began work many years ago I was in an atmosphere of PUBLISH OR PERISH, now at the age of 86 I find myself in an atmosphere of STAY ACTIVE OR PERISH, so I keep writing.

A place where ships are swallowed by the sand.

There is no doubt that the Skeleton Coast of Namibia is bleak and inhospitable. There was a time when Mariners would fear this particular stretch of coastline - and with good reason. Those who's ships ran aground here had little chance of surviving the savage shoreline and those who were fortunate enough to come ashore had little chance of rescue. All they would find on the landward side was a bleached desert waste with few examples of the African wildlife they might otherwise expect to encounter.

Today, of course, we have a wider appreciation of such unspoilt areas and the entire region is now a designated and protected National Park where none may enter without a permit.

Such is the tranquillity of this forbidding region that even something as generally accepted as tyre tracks across the hardened sands are regarded as pollution. Such tracks may take over 100 years to disappear altogether.

In this book, the author produces an excellent insight into what appears to be every aspect of the Skeleton Coast. Geology, climate, rivers, flora and fauna, early explorers, shipwrecks, lost aircraft, fortune hunters and much more besides - they are all explained here. It is an excellent book, easy to read and supported by some first rate photography.

Of course, it is the shipwrecks which are my own main interest but I should also like to visit such a bleak and unspoilt place. Were I to do so, however, it would not remain so unspoilt. It is, therefore, one of those places I shall continue to put off visiting. In the meantime, I shall console myself by reading this book again.

Stunning Book

I was given this book when I left Namibia in 1989 & never read it until this past week.
I returned to Namibia on holiday in April 2011 and spent time at the skeleton coast park - what a wonderful place. I never visited it while living in Swakopmund.
Amy's book brought back all the happy memories of my holiday - it is an excellent book & I highly recommend it.
Now all I want to do is find more of the authors books to read.

Michael Hitt is a University Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Texas A&M University and a Distinguished Research Fellow at Texas Christian University. Michael received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. He has coauthored or coedited 26 books and authored or coauthored many journal articles. A recent article listed him as one of the 10 most cited authors in management over a 25-year period. The Times Higher Education 2010 listed him among the top scholars in economics, finance and management based on the number of highly cited articles he has authored. A recent article in the Academy of Management Perspectives lists him as one of the top two management scholars in terms of the combined impact of his work both inside (i.e., citations in scholarly journals) and outside of academia. He has served on the editorial review boards of multiple journals and is a former editor of the Academy of Management Journal and a former coeditor of the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. He received the 1996 Award for Outstanding Academic Contributions to Competitiveness and the 1999 Award for Outstanding Intellectual Contributions to Competitiveness Research from the American Society for Competitiveness. He is a fellow in the Academy of Management and in the Strategic Management Society, a research fellow in the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers and received an honorary doctorate from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He received the Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar Award from Syracuse University in 2005, the USASBE Scholar in Corporate Entrepreneurship Award from USASBE in 2004, and the Riata Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar award from Oklahoma State University in 2014. He received awards for the best article published in Academy of Management Executive (1999), the Academy of Management Journal (2000), and the Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship (2010). He received an Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Research from Texas A&M University (2012). In 2014, Dr. Ireland was listed as a Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher (a listing of the world's most influential researchers), and he was also listed as one of The World's Most Influential Scientific Minds (a listing of the top cited researchers in science around the globe).

Robert E. Hoskisson is the George R. Brown Chair of Strategic Management at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California-Irvine. Dr. Hoskisson's research topics focus on corporate governance, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate and international diversification, and cooperative strategy. He teaches courses in corporate and international strategic management, cooperative strategy, and strategy consulting. He has coauthored 26 books, including recent books on business strategic and competitive advantage. Professor Hoskisson has served on several editorial boards for such publications as the Strategic Management Journal (current Associate Editor), Academy of Management Journal (Consulting Editor), Journal of International Business Studies (Consulting Editor), Journal of Management (Associate Editor) and Organization Science. His research has appeared in over 130 publications, including the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Academy of Management Perspective, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, California Management Review, and the Journal of World Business. He is a fellow of the Academy of Management and a charter member of the Academy of Management Journal's Hall of Fame. He is also a fellow of the Strategic Management Society and has received awards from the American Society for Competitiveness and the William G. Dyer Alumni award from the Marriott School of Management, Brigham Young University. Great for renting

Received this when I was in school. Amazon rent is probably the best place to get the books you need. Grant it they do not have all the books you will need but most of them they will. I was even able to find some that my instructors said that I may have an issue finding. Amazon rent saved me a ton of money and I recommend it for any and everyone in school. If you are going to be a little late on your return they can extend your rental for a low fee with out having to buy the book at full cost returning the books are easy as well. This in itself should inspire folks to get out there and get their degree.

A good strategy read

The text is arranged in a very straightforward manner. The content can be a little redundant, but the authors have done well to re-emphasize their points without the monotony of saying it the same way. There were a few typos and regarding their take on the strategy of one international bank, they were not well informed. Out of all of the points, thoughts and content, there was only that. I would recommend the book for those who regard themselves as thought leaders and want to develop their mental capital. Everyone else, keep reading Dilbert.

BEWARE OF NEIGHBORS

I read this play several weeks ago and plan to see it in New York. A true and frightening cautionary tale when you open your hearts and share with new neighbors who are living on nothing. Very impressive writing and totally believable. Paints a painful picture of youth running on empty. First rate work.

a bad play about 4 sad/poor behaving adults

I'm not sure what the Pulitzer Prize committee saw in this play - it was a finalist in 2011 (the fabulous Clybourne Park won that year). It's a story that may or not be set in Detroit - the playwright's instructions say that it is outside of a major American city, in the first ring of the suburbs.

There are 4 major characters - two couples in their thirties. Both a little down and behind in the 21st century American economy. Sharon and Kenny are recently sober and have no money. They've recently moved into the neighborhood, and Ben and Mary invite them over for dinner. The play is entirely set in their two backyards, which are next to each other.

All of the characters have struggles, desires and sad tales (but none that are super sad). None of them are admirable nor deserving of sympathy. As the play progresses, all the characters act badly in some form. It's not entertaining. It is also over the top at times and overly drawn out.

Better seen than read. The words need actors to give them weight, air, and fluidity. It is especially difficult to visualize many of the scenes taking place, as D'Amour is sparing in her stage direction: for most directors, a gift, but for recreational readers, this can be a tough one to tackle. Don't reach into this play without prior experience reading theatrical literature. You'll enjoy it more.
