About the Author
Barbara Zoltan, MA, OTR/L is a consultant in Southern California. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University and her master’s degree from the University of Southern California. She holds certifications in both sensory integration and neurodevelopmental treatment and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy in Health Care. Her more than 20 years of experience specializing in neurological rehabilitation has included a broad range of research, teaching, administrative and clinical practice. She has published over 20 articles, chapters, and books related to the adult with acquired brain injury.

It's a Good Book, but I Wish It can be more Engaging

I use this book for class and I must say it is a good book. It can get hard to read at times because it is just words upon words and hardly any pictures, and the language is professional.
I know it is a professional book, but the best way to learn is to make the book entertaining and more engaging! I guess it is a flaw of most textbooks. They cannot seem to mix both fun and learning.

Useful Reference

As an entry level OT, I often use this book to help me better understand the nature of the deficits experienced by my patients with cognitive, visual,or perceptual problems. Although I haven't made it through the entire book, I've found it to be well outlined and detailed. I definitely feel more confident in my treatment approach and explaining the deficits to patients and their families. The topic matter is definitely advanced level material, but overall highly recommended if you have an interest in vision, cognition, and perception.

I didn't need this book for school, but I have an interest in neuro rehab. I used this resource on my clinical fieldwork quite a bit!!
