Henry Veltmeyer is Professor of Sociology and International Development Studies at Saint Mary's University, Nova Scotia, Canada and Adjunct Professor of Development Studies at Universidad Aut�noma de Zacatecas, Mexico. He is the co-author of Social Movements and State Power (Pluto, 2005).

The book is meant to be accompanied by a website, as promised in the opening pages, with full texts of those overviewed in the module summaries. The website, as far as I can tell, doesn't exist. It's a real shame, too, because this is otherwise such a promising project.

Bought for a graduate school class, an interesting read. Some may find the ideas frustrating, but it's a good intro to the topic
