Love the Book / The Windows App is horrible

The GRE exam is definitely not the type of standardized test that most American students are used to. They ask conceptual questions that must be answered within 30-second increments. You aren't performing calculations like you do in a math class. I have now taken the GRE twice and have used this book along with the book published by ETS (the creator of the GRE exam). This book really breaks concepts down and is very helpful in teaching concepts, along with helpful shortcuts, that you may not already know. Even though written by the test creator, the ETS book was okay for the practice exams, but not great at teaching.
Cons for this product: Windows App: The practice tests are difficult to find online. I tried the web addresses listed in the book without finding the site. I kept getting Error 404. Finally, I did something and found the practice tests; however, they were not formatted like the actual GRE exam AT ALL. Plus, there is no online calculator like you use on the actual GRE. In addition, some of the test question pages are cut off, so you don't have all of your answer choices. I gave up on this product after only a few minutes. It was really frustrating.

I purchased this book at the recommendation of a friend. It's been years since I've taken a standardized test or done any math, so I needed something that would give a me a comprehensive overview of the important math topics on the exam. This book is exactly what I was looking for. I'm halfway through and already feel more confident with GRE math. I particulary like the fact that GRE strategies are interspersed throughout the book, so I'm able to get a sense of how I'll be expected to use what I learn. Definitely recommend!

BE CAREFUL WHAT VERSION YOU BUY!

Amazon has done us a huge disservice by lumping all the reviews for the various "original" versions of this book together. The version I purchased (black cover with money on the bottom, kindle version) is riddled with errors where the publisher evidently SCANNED the book in and then didn't bother to edit the results. Page numbers appear randomly in the middle of paragraphs, "m" appears where clearly "in" was intended and in some cases paragraphs just end in the middle of a sentence. This is a great book but some of the publishers have done a terrible job reproducing it and Amazon isn't helping by grouping very different copies together in the same review group.

I hope to update this review when I find a less crappy copy of this book, but avoid the version with the black cover with money on the bottom. (See pictures)

Finally! a clean and unabridged edition. I had to purchase two other editions before finding this one. It is clean, good size font, and true to the original 1937 wording. Published by Dauphin Publications ISBN 978-1939438256. Nice job!

Finding a true original version of Think and Grow Rich has been a major challenge. Some of the Mass Market Paperbacks produced are not complete for example Wilder Publications 2007 has the following;

Pg113 "before Lord Cornwall is surrendered" - Should be "before Lord Cornwallis surrendered

Pg 115 "penalties of an Mt of Henry VIII" - Should be "of an Act of Henry VIII"

Pg 119 "The habit of decisions acquired" Should be "The habit of indecision acquired". This one is critical as the context of the message is completety changed with the wrong word.

All I can add further is that "Think and Grow Rich - The Complete Classic Text" published by Tarcher Peguin & "Think and Grow Rich The Orginal Classic" published by Capstone seem to be the original text based on the 1937 edition.

Hope this helps others as it has been extremely frustrating studying this great book and finding errors in the print etc.
