About the Author
Chris Holcomb is an associate professor of English at the University of South Carolina, where he teaches rhetoric and composition. His previous publications include Mirth Making: The Rhetorical Discourse on Jesting in Early Modern England and several articles on style and performance.
M. Jimmie Killingsworth is a professor and head of the English department at Texas A&M University, where he teaches American literature and rhetoric. His recent publications include Appeals in Modern Rhetoric: An Ordinary-Language Approach and The Cambridge Introduction to Walt Whitman.

Excellent

I tend to steer clear of explicit instructions about grammar or style. Reasons for this are twofold: (1) I understand that you can't teach these things decontextually, and (2) I've never felt secure enough in my own grammatical or stylistic abilities to deliberately take the time out to teach them explicitly.
This book solves both issues. It provides a nice refresher/primer for those of us who implicitly *know* grammar or style without possessing the discipline-specific language necessary to talk about how we know what we know. It also treats style as that which is performed. All suggestions, examples, and explanations or rhetorically-grounded.
I highly recommend this book either for a class (i.e. my advanced prose students) or as a more practical, rhetorically-aware alternative to something like Strunk & White.
